World Series Championships 2011 MLB gifts home decor

The 2011 Major League Baseball World Series was the first of the 112th World Series and the most recent Fall Classic to take place. The best-of-seven playoff, which was held between the American League champion Texas Rangers and the National League champion St. Louis Cardinals, began on October 19 and ended on October 27. The Cardinals defeated the Rangers four games to three, winning their 11th World Series championship in 16 tries. The series was held from October 19 to 27, contested between two divisional winners from each league (Texas, from the American League West division, and St. Louis from the National League Central division). Texas earned its berth into the postseason by winning the American League pennant for its second consecutive appearance in a World Series; Los Angeles being their opponents in 2010.

The 2011 Major League Baseball World Series is an ongoing best-of-seven playoff between the American League champion Texas Rangers and the National League champion St. Louis Cardinals. Teams from both leagues have advanced to the best-of-seven playoffs numerous times since 1903, with the AL winning 43 times (including their 1995 through 2005 championships) and the NL 26 times.

During this past October, championships were held for several sports leagues. At the end of October, the Texas Rangers beat the Detroit Tigers in the series for Major League Baseball (MLB). It was the most exciting World Series of all time, and drew a TV audience of 22.3 million people — up 4.3 million viewers from last year.
